What I Do

I work on the production side at Longview.

My job is to burrow deep into research questions, and to resurface in unexpected places. Some days, I'm wading through historical archives in search of past predictions of the robot apocalypse. Others, I'm in conversation with scientists who are rethinking the definitions of dying.

Before Longview, I worked in start-ups, ranging from tech to podcasting. In San Francisco, at Y Combinator, I helped found a speech-training platform. In Boston, I worked for the podcasting company Rococo Punch on shows like Welcome to Provincetown and Finding Raffi.

My Background

For as long as I can remember, I've been consumed with the question of consciousness: the ineffable thing that makes us human. In pursuit of answers, I traveled from New York to Dharamsala to Tel Aviv, encountering philosophers, Tibetan Buddhist monastics, and neuroscientists along the way.

Eventually, my questions brought me to the start-up world — where I lived among fellow entrepreneurs, built new products, and slept very little. Although I loved the pace and vibrancy of that culture, I came to miss the human. I missed having sensitive conversations, grappling with big questions, and doing work that was tangible and shared.

So I changed course and decided to pursue a career at the intersection of medicine and narrative journalism. I’m applying to medical school, and in the meantime, I wanted to develop my storytelling skills.

…all of which brings me to Longview. As a fanatical podcast listener, I had long respected the team’s work. So when I walked into a bar and met Andy, I asked for a job.

My Ethics

I believe information itself is neutral — what matters is how it's framed, used, and shared. I believe that all people deserve the right to speak — and that a journalist's job is to convey their perspective as faithfully as possible. When approached with honesty and rigor, journalism builds toward a more informed, fair, and free world.
