Andy Mills

My name is Andy Mills. I’m a reporter, podcast producer, and the editor of Longview.

Over the past decade, I’ve co-created several shows and narrative series, including The Daily at the New York Times, Rabbit Hole, Caliphate, The Witch Trials of J.K. Rowling and The Last Invention. While I cover politics, culture, technology, and science, I'm especially interested in what people believe and how those beliefs shape institutions and the course of history.

If you've stumbled on this page and are interested in the stories I like to tell and how I like to produce them here’s a good mix:

Delilah. Blame. Plotted in Darkness.

I also occasionally write and give public talks on storytelling, journalism and creating ambitious podcasts.

More personally, I’m a former fundamentalist Christian who grew up in Louisiana and Illinois and once believed that those who didn't share my exact views were damned to hell. I now am an enthusiast for curiosity, skepticism, grace and the transformative power of listening to people you disagree with.

I currently split my time between a tiny town in the Midwest, where I enjoy walking in the woods and kayaking in the river, and Brooklyn, NY.
